Security Corporation— Proven Protection, Compassionate Response
It was a slow morning for an out-of-the-way bank in Michigan. Theresa and another bank representative were on duty. They were in an inner office when they heard the door chime. As they rose to meet their customers they were met by two assailants with guns. The two tellers were forced behind the counter to fill bags with money.

Within eight seconds of receiving the holdup alarm our service call center employee, Arline, spoke with Theresa who said they had just been robbed. Arline remained on the phone until two police units arrived on the scene. It was obvious when talking to Theresa that every minute seemed like a lifetime as they waited for the police. Arline sympathized with the teller. At one point Theresa apologized for still crying. Arline told her, “I am not even there and I am crying too. You have nothing to be sorry for.”

When Arline was questioned as to what motivated her to stay on the line until police arrived she simply answered, “…because she needed me.”
